Checking/clearing DTC
- Checking DTC (reading with SSM3)
- Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn on the SSM3.
- Select the following menu items using the SSM3.: [Inspection of BRZ]/[Each System Check]/[Engine Control System]/[Inspection of DTC]
- Check DTC ([Present fault]).
- Select the following menu items using the SSM3. [Inspection of BRZ]/[Each System Check]/[Engine Control System]/[OBD System]/[Temporary Code(s) Inspection]
- Check DTC ([Temporary Diagnostic Code(s)]).NOTE:
Displayed items Contents [Present fault] DTCs that indicate the error [Temporary Diagnostic Code(s)] - DTCs that indicate the temporary error
- Indicates the possibility of error though the error is not confirmed.
[Readiness code] Self-diagnostic status can be monitored concerning the given DTC. - After the test drive, check that the self-diagnosis for the target DTC is completed successfully by confirming [Readiness code], and then check [Present fault] or [Temporary Diagnostic Code(s)].
- For DTCs (P0171, etc.) that detect error in two trips, the error occurred in the first trip is stored to the engine control computer as temporary error.
- Present fault stores the freeze frame data.
- Clearing DTC using SSM3
- Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn on the SSM3.
- Using the SSM3, select the following menu items, and clear the DTC [Inspection of BRZ]/[Each System Check]/[Engine Control System]/[Clear Memory]CAUTION:
- When the clearing DTC cannot be performed successfully, turn the ignition switch to OFF, and then retry the operation.
- Do not clear the DTC using SSM3 until the cause of failure is identified.
NOTE: Initial diagnosis of electronic throttle control is performed after DTC clearance. For this reason, the engine starting after DTC clearance must be performed more than 10 seconds after IG ON.
