Master Cylinder: Removal
CAUTION:
Be careful not to spill the brake fluid. Brake fluid spilled on the vehicle body will harm the paint surface; wash it off with water and wipe clean quickly if spilled.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery. < Ref. to
BATTERY
, NOTE, Note. >NOTE: For models other than STI model, disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor.
- Remove the collector cover. (Except for STI model) < Ref. to REMOVAL , Collector Cover. >
- Drain the brake fluid. < Ref. to CLUTCH FLUIDS . >
- Remove the instrument panel lower cover. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Instrument Panel Lower Covers
- Remove the knee airbag module. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Knee Airbag Module. >
- Remove the snap pin and clevis pin, and then separate the push rod of the master cylinder.
- Remove the intercooler. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Intercooler. > < Ref. to REMOVAL , Intercooler. >
- Disconnect the clutch pipe and reservoir hose.
- Remove the clutch hose bracket from the bulkhead.
- Remove the master cylinder.
