Engine Control Module (ECM): Installation
CAUTION:
When the ECM of model with immobilizer has been replaced, be sure to perform the registration of immobilizer system.
- For model without keyless access with push button start (Contact an authorized Subaru Dealership)
- Except for Canada model with keyless access with push button start (Contact an authorized Subaru Dealership)
- For Canada model with keyless access with push button start (Contact an authorized Subaru Dealership)
NOTE:
When replacing the ECM, be careful not to use the ECM of wrong specification to avoid any damage on the fuel injection system.
- Install the ECM bracket to the vehicle.
Tightening torque:
7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)
- Connect the connector to the ECM bracket, and install the clip securing the harness.
- Install the ECM to the ECM bracket.
Tightening torque:
7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)
- Move the lock lever in the direction of the arrow, and connect the connector to the ECM in numerical order as shown in the figure.
- Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to BATTERY
