Master Cylinder: Removal

CAUTION:

Be careful not to spill the brake fluid. Brake fluid spilled on the vehicle body will harm the paint surface; wash it off with water and wipe clean quickly if spilled.
Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". <Ref. to CAUTION , General Description.>

Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
Disconnect the ground cable from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. <Ref. to BATTERY , NOTE, Note.>
NOTE: For models other than STI model, disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor.
Remove the collector cover. (Except for STI model) <Ref. to REMOVAL , Collector Cover.>
Drain the brake fluid. <Ref. to CLUTCH FLUID .>
Remove the instrument panel lower cover. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Instrument Panel Lower Cover.>
Remove the knee airbag module. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Knee Airbag Module.>
Remove the snap pin and clevis pin, and then separate the push rod of the master cylinder.

Remove the intercooler. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Intercooler.> <Ref. to REMOVAL , Intercooler.>
Disconnect the clutch pipe and reservoir hose.

Remove the clutch hose bracket from the bulkhead.
Remove the master cylinder.
