Master Cylinder: Removal
CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill the brake fluid. Brake fluid spilled on the vehicle body will harm the paint surface; wash it off with water and wipe clean quickly if spilled.
- Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". <Ref. to CAUTION , General Description.>
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. <Ref. to

, NOTE, Note.>NOTE: For models other than STI model, disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor.
- Remove the collector cover. (Except for STI model) <Ref. to REMOVAL , Collector Cover.>
- Drain the brake fluid. <Ref. to CLUTCH FLUID .>
- Remove the instrument panel lower cover. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Instrument Panel Lower Cover.>
- Remove the knee airbag module. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Knee Airbag Module.>
- Remove the snap pin and clevis pin, and then separate the push rod of the master cylinder.
- Remove the intercooler. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Intercooler.> <Ref. to REMOVAL , Intercooler.>
- Disconnect the clutch pipe and reservoir hose.
- Remove the clutch hose bracket from the bulkhead.
- Remove the master cylinder.
