Select Cable: Removal

  1. Shift the select lever to "N" range.
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  3. Lift up the vehicle.
  4. Remove the center exhaust pipe. (2.5 L model) Ref. to EXHAUST(H4DO)>Center Exhaust Pipe>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the front exhaust pipe and rear exhaust pipe. (3.6 L model) Ref. to EXHAUST(H6DO)>Front Exhaust Pipe>REMOVAL . Ref. to EXHAUST(H6DO)>Rear Exhaust Pipe>REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the center exhaust cover.

  7. Remove the snap pin and washer from the shifter arm and remove the select cable from the shifter arm.
    CAUTION: Do not apply extra overload while holding the part (a).

  8. Remove the plate assembly from the transmission case.

  9. Disconnect the cable from arm assembly.
    CAUTION: Do not apply extra overload while holding the part (a).

  10. Raise the claw of clamp to remove the cable from bracket.

  11. Remove the select cable from plate assembly.
