Intake Manifold: Removal
- Remove the collector cover.
- Release the fuel pressure. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H6DO)>Fuel>PROCEDURE>RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Open the fuel filler lid and remove the fuel filler cap.NOTE: This operation is required to release the inner pressure of the fuel tank.
- Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose.
- Loosen the clamp (A) securing the air intake boot.
- Remove the bolt (B) securing the air intake boot to the collector cover bracket.
- Remove the air intake boot from the throttle body and the air cleaner case (rear), and move it to the left side wheel apron.CAUTION: Be careful not to allow the air intake boot to contact the air conditioner pipe.
- Remove the fuel injector. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H6DO)>Fuel Injector>REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the engine harness connector.
- Disconnect the connector (A) from the throttle body, and remove the throttle body from the intake manifold.NOTE: Do not disconnect the preheater hose.
- Disconnect the fuel delivery tube and evaporation hose.CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Catch the fuel from the tubes using a container or cloth.
- Disconnect the connectors from the oil temperature sensor, engine coolant temperature sensor and intake oil flow control solenoid valve LH.
- Remove the clip securing the engine harness to the fuel injector pipe LH.
- Disconnect the connector from the intake oil flow control solenoid valve RH.
- Remove the clip securing the engine harness to the fuel injector pipe RH.
- Remove the bolts securing the EGR pipe B to the EGR control valve.
- Remove the intake manifold from cylinder head.
- Remove the engine harness. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H6DO)>General Description>COMPONENT>ENGINE HARNESS .
