Differential Gear Oil: Replacement

CAUTION:
  • Vehicle components are extremely hot immediately after driving. Be wary of receiving burns from heated parts.
  • If the differential gear oil is spilt over the engine, exhaust pipe or the under cover, completely wipe it off to avoid emission of smoke or causing a fire.
  1. Lift up the vehicle.
  2. Drain the differential gear oil by removing drain plug using TORX® bit T70.
  3. With a new gasket, install the drain plug using the TORX® bit T70.

    Tightening torque: 

    70 N.m (7.1 kgf-m, 51.6 ft-lb)

  4. Fill with differential gear oil through the oil charge pipe.

    Recommended gear oil: 

    Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>SPECIFICATION .

    Gear oil capacity: 

    Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>SPECIFICATION .

  5. Adjust the level of differential gear oil. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>DIFFERENTIAL GEAR OIL>ADJUSTMENT .
