Select Cable: Removal

Disconnect the ground cable from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
Release the shift lock using a screwdriver, etc. to shift the select lever to the "N" range.

Lift up the vehicle.
Remove the center exhaust pipe (rear). Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DOTC)>CENTER EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL>CENTER EXHAUST PIPE (REAR) .
Remove the snap pin and washer from the shifter arm and remove the select cable from the shifter arm.
CAUTION: Do not apply excessive load while holding the part (a).

Remove the cable plate assembly from the transmission case.

Disconnect the select cable from the arm assembly.
CAUTION: Do not apply excessive load while holding the part (a).

Raise the claw of clamp to remove the select cable from bracket.

Remove the select cable from the cable plate assembly.
