Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: Removal

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Drain engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DOTC)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
  3. Remove the intercooler. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>INTERCOOLER>REMOVAL .
  4. Disconnect the connector (A) and connector (B), and remove the clip (C), clip (D) and clip (E).

  5. Remove the connector (A) and the clip (B).

  6. Disconnect the connector (A) from the knock sensor, and disconnect the connector (B) from the engine coolant temperature sensor.

  7. Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor using the ST.
    NOTE: STRUT MOUNT SOCKET (20099PA000) can also be used.

    Preparation tool: 

    ST: STRUT MOUNT SOCKET (20399AG000)
