Intake Manifold Assembly: Installation
- When installing fuel pipe protector No. 2 (Crosstrek model)
- Set the fuel pipe protector No. 2.
- Install the camshaft position sensor (intake LH side). Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR>INSTALLATION>INTAKE SIDE .
- Set the fuel pipe protector No. 2.
- Connect the fuel delivery tube (B) to the fuel pipe. Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>Fuel Delivery and Evaporation Lines>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE A) .
- Connect the fuel delivery pipe (A) to the fuel pipe. Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>Fuel Delivery and Evaporation Lines>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE B) .
- Connect the fuel delivery pipe to the high-pressure fuel pump. Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE C) .
- Install the cylinder head plate to the cylinder head.
- Set a new gasket and install the intake manifold assembly.NOTE: Be careful not to let the engine wiring harness be caught by the parts.
Tightening torque:
25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)
- Install the fuel pipe protector. (Impreza model)
Tightening torque:
19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)
- Install the fuel pipe protector No. 1 together with the fuel pipe protector No. 2. (Crosstrek model)
Tightening torque:
19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)
- Hold the engine wiring harness with a new clip.
- Install the clip while aligning the alignment mark (A) of the engine wiring harness so that the band exposed length (B) comes on the vehicle lower side (C).
- Cut so that the band exposed length (B) becomes 5 mm (0.2 in) or less.
- Insert the clip all the way to the end and install so that the gap after inserting (A) becomes 3 mm (0.12 in) or less.
- Connect the connector to the tumble generator valve LH.
- Install the harness protector.NOTE: Make sure 2 claws (C) are securely engaged in each position.
- Install the clip (B) securing the battery cables.
- Connect the brake booster vacuum hose (A).
- Connect the connector (A) to the EGR control valve.
- Install the fuel delivery tube.
- Secure the battery cable with the clip (A) and clip (B) in place. (Fixed capacity A/C model)
- Connect the connector (C), connector (D), and the terminal (E). (Fixed capacity A/C model)
Tightening torque:
15.5 N.m (1.6 kfg-m, 11.4 ft-lb)
- Secure the battery cable with the clip (A) and clip (B) in place. (Variable capacity A/C model)
- Connect the connector (C), connector (D), connector (E), and the terminal (F). (Variable capacity A/C model)
Tightening torque:
15.5 N.m (1.6 kfg-m, 11.4 ft-lb)
- Install the V-belt cover.
Tightening torque:
7 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.2 ft-lb)
- Set a new gasket, and install the stud bolts (B) using TORX® E8.
Tightening torque:
5 N.m (0.5 kgf-m, 3.7 ft-lb)
- Install the nut (A) securing the EGR cooler to the EGR control valve.
Tightening torque:
19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)
- Tighten the bolt (C) which secures the EGR cooler to the cylinder head RH.
Tightening torque:
6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)
- Connect the connector (A) to the tumble generator valve RH.
- Install the fuel delivery tube clamp (B).
- Install the clip (C) securing the engine wiring harness.
- Connect the preheater hose (A) to the throttle body, and connect the connector (B).
- Connect the connector (C) to the manifold absolute pressure sensor.
- Connect the connector (D) to the purge control solenoid valve, and install clip (E).
- Connect the purge hose (F) to the purge control solenoid valve.
- Connect the PCV hose No. 1 (G).
- Install the bolt (H) securing the fuel pipe.
Tightening torque:
6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)
- Install the air intake boot. Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>Air Intake Boot>INSTALLATION .
- Install the battery. Refer to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>BATTERY>INSTALLATION .
- Fill engine coolant. Refer to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
