Except For Hybrid Model

• CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR AREA (METHOD WITH CIRCUIT TESTER) 

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Disconnect the ECM connector. Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)>REMOVAL .
  3. Attach the ST between ECM and the engine wiring harness and the bulkhead harness. Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>General Description>PREPARATION TOOL>HOW TO USE CHECK BOARD .

    Special tool: 

    CHECK BOARD (18460AA120)

  4. Connect the battery ground terminal. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  5. Turn to IG ON.
  6. Measure the voltage between ECM connector terminals.

    Accelerator pedal position sensor Accelerator pedal Terminal No. Standard
    Main Not depressed (full closed) 66 (+) - 55 (-) 0.3 - 1.1 V
    Depressed (full opened) 2.3 - 3.8 V
    Sub Not depressed (full closed) 64 (+) - 65 (-) 0.3 - 1.1 V
    Depressed (full opened) 2.3 - 3.8 V
  7. After inspection, restore the vehicle to its original state.

• CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR AREA (METHOD WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR) 

  1. Connect the Subaru Select Monitor.
  2. Turn to IG ON.
  3. Read the accelerator opening angle and the accelerator sensor voltage using Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>DATA MONITOR .

• OTHER INSPECTIONS 

  1. Check that there is no deformation, cracks or other damages.
  2. Check for smooth operation when the accelerator pedal is depressed.
  3. Check if the accelerator pedal returns to its original position smoothly when the pedal is released.
