Inspection When Engine Oil Level Warning Light Is On
- CHECK DTC
.
Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor.
NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to "Help" of application .Is DTC detected?
Yes : (1) Repair the corresponding system.
(2) Go to 2 .
No : Go to 2 .
- CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL
.
Check the engine oil level.
Is engine oil level normal?
Yes : Go to 3 .
No : (1) Adjust the engine oil level to a proper amount.
(2) Go to 3 .
- CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL WARNING LIGHT
.
- Start the engine and warm up completely.
- Turn to IG OFF, and wait for one minute or more.
- Turn to IG ON.
- Check if engine oil level warning light goes off.
Does the engine oil level warning light go off?
Yes : System is normal.
Restore the vehicle to its original state.
No : Go to 4 .
- CHECK OIL LEVEL SWITCH
.
- Turn the ignition to OFF.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Disconnect the oil level switch connector.
- Check continuity between the oil level switch terminal and chassis ground.
Is there continuity?
Yes : Go to 5 .
No : Replace the oil level switch.
Restore the vehicle to its original state.
- CHECK CONTINUITY OF ENGINE WIRING HARNESS
.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Check continuity between the connector on the engine wiring harness oil level switch side and the connector on the engine wiring harness ECM side.
Is there continuity?
Yes : Go to 6 .
No : (1) Repair the engine wiring harness.
(2) Restore the vehicle to its original state.
- CHECK COMBINATION METER
.
- Restore the vehicle to its original state.
- Perform the self-diagnosis display mode of combination meter.
Is combination meter OK?
Yes : (1) Check for poor contact due to the wear of connector pin etc., and if no fault is found, replace the ECM.
(2) Restore the vehicle to its original state.
No : (1) Replace the combination meter.
(2) Restore the vehicle to its original state.
