Inspection When Engine Oil Level Warning Light Is On
- CHECK DTC.
Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor.
NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to "Help" of application.Is DTC detected?
Yes :
- Repair the corresponding system.
- Go to 2.
No : Go to 2.
- CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL.
Check the engine oil level.
Is engine oil level normal?
Yes : Go to 3.
No :
- Adjust the engine oil level to a proper amount.
- Go to 3.
- CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL WARNING LIGHT.
- Start the engine and warm up completely.
- Turn to IG OFF, and wait for one minute or more.
- Turn to IG ON.
- Check if engine oil level warning light goes off.
Does the engine oil level warning light go off?
Yes : System is normal.
Restore the vehicle to its original state.
No : Go to 4.
- CHECK OIL LEVEL SWITCH.
- Turn the ignition to OFF.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Disconnect the oil level switch connector.
- Check continuity between the oil level switch terminal and chassis ground.
Is there continuity?
Yes : Go to 5.
No : Replace the oil level switch.
Restore the vehicle to its original state.
- CHECK CONTINUITY OF ENGINE WIRING HARNESS.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Check continuity between the connector on the engine wiring harness oil level switch side and the connector on the engine wiring harness ECM side.
Is there continuity?
Yes : Go to 6.
No :
- Repair the engine wiring harness.
- Restore the vehicle to its original state.
- CHECK COMBINATION METER.
- Restore the vehicle to its original state.
- Perform the self-diagnosis display mode of combination meter. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>COMBINATION METER SYSTEM>OPERATION>SELF-DIAGNOSIS DISPLAY MODE .
Is combination meter OK?
Yes :
- Check for poor contact due to the wear of connector pin etc., and if no fault is found, replace the ECM. Ref. to OPERATION .
- Restore the vehicle to its original state.
No :
- Replace the combination meter. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>COMBINATION METER>REMOVAL .
- Restore the vehicle to its original state.
