Sub Frame: Installation
CAUTION:
- For parts which are not reusable, always use new parts.
- Always tighten the bushing in the state where the vehicle is at curb weight and the wheels are in full contact with the ground.
- During the installation, make sure that the marking of sensor sub assembly rear does not twist.
- Check the removed parts for wear, damage and crack, and repair or replace them if faulty.
- Install each part to the sub frame assembly rear.
- Trailing link assembly rear: Ref. to INSTALLATION .
- Rear lateral link assembly front: Ref. to INSTALLATION .
- Rear lateral link assembly rear: Ref. to INSTALLATION .
- Rear drive shaft: Ref. to INSTALLATION .
- Rear differential: Ref. to INSTALLATION .
- Arm assembly rear upper: Ref. to INSTALLATION .
- Install the rear suspension assembly.
- Lift the rear suspension assembly using a transmission jack.
- Install the support sub frame rear and the support sub frame front on the left and right sides, and install the rear suspension assembly.CAUTION:
- The rear suspension assembly is heavy. Make sure that it is firmly supported so that it is level.
- While checking there is no dragging of harness and wire, raise it slowly with a transmission jack.
Tightening torque: Refer to "COMPONENT" of "General Description" for the tightening torque.COMPONENTS WITH TORQUE SPECIFICATION
- Connect the stabilizer link rear (upper part).
Tightening torque: 60 N.m (6.1kgf-m, 44.3ft-lb)
- Install the bolts and nuts on lower side of shock absorber assembly rear.
Tightening torque: 120 N.m (12.2kgf-m, 88.5ft-lb)
- Install the cover spare tire COMPL.
Tightening torque: 32N.m (3.3kgf-m, 23.6ft-lb)
- Install the spare tire.
- Install the rear exhaust cover.
Tightening torque: 10N.m (1.0kgf-m, 7.4ft-lb)
- Install the adapter cord EPB.
Tightening torque: 18N.m (1.8kgf-m, 13.3ft-lb)
- Install the disc brake assembly rear and brake disc rear. Ref. to INSTALLATION .
- Install the arm assembly rear upper to the sub frame assembly rear.
Tightening torque:
7.5N.m (0.8kgf-m, 5.5ft-lb)
- Install the propeller shaft. Ref. to PROPELLER SHAFT/DRIVE SHAFT/AXLE>PROPELLER SHAFT>INSTALLATION .
- Install the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DOTC)>REAR EXHAUST PIPE>INSTALLATION . Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DOTC)>MUFFLER>INSTALLATION .
- Install the fuel tank protector. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DOTC)>FUEL TANK PROTECTOR>INSTALLATION .
- Install the rear wheels and lower the vehicle.
Tightening torque: 120N.m (12.2kgf-m, 88.5ft-lb)
- Connect the battery ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY>GROUND TERMINAL REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION .
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, exit the brake maintenance mode. Ref. to PARKING BRAKE>PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM>OPERATION>BRAKE MAINTENANCE MODE .
- After the operation is completed, apply and release the parking brake five times and ensure that the brake operates normally.
- Inspect the wheel alignment and adjust if necessary.
- Inspection: INSPECTION
- Adjustment: ADJUSTMENT
- Perform the following adjustments using Subaru Select Monitor.
- Lane keep assist learning value clear: Ref. to EYESIGHT (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR ACTIVE LANE KEEP SYSTEM LEARNING VALUE>OPERATION .
- VDC sensor midpoint setting mode: Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM & H/U)>ADJUSTMENT .
