CVT Transaxle: CVTF: Replacement
CAUTION:
- Vehicle components are extremely hot immediately after driving. Be wary of receiving burns from heated parts.
- If CVTF spills over the engine, exhaust pipe or the under cover, completely wipe it off to avoid emission of smoke and causing a fire.
- CVTF level changes along with CVTF temperature. When inspecting CVTF level, observe the specified CVTF temperature.
- Remove the drain plug.
- Check the CVTF condition. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>CVTF>CONDITION CHECK .
- Use a new gasket to install the drain plug.
Tightening torque:
39.2 N.m (4.0 kgf-m, 28.9 ft-lb)
- Remove the filler plug.
- Add the specified fluid up to the filler plug hole lower section.
CVTF:
Ref. to RECOMMENDED MATERIALS>GREASE>CVTF .
CAUTION: Always use specified CVTF. Otherwise, a malfunction may occur. - Temporarily tighten the filler plug.
- Idle the engine to raise CVTF temperature to 35 - 45°C (95 - 113°F) on Subaru Select Monitor.
- Operate the select lever in P → R → N → D and D → N → R → P to circulate CVTF with the engine idling.CAUTION: Pay special attention to the following operations as the engine is at idle.
- Place the select lever in "P" range. Then lift up the vehicle with the engine at idle to adjust the CVTF level and check for leakage. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>CVTF>ADJUSTMENT .
- Using a new gasket, install the filler plug.
Tightening torque:
50 N.m (5.1 kgf-m, 36.9 ft-lb)
