Control Valve Body: Removal
CAUTION:
If any CVTF adheres to the exhaust pipe, completely wipe it off to avoid emitting smoke and causing a fire.
NOTE:
The control valve body is replaced as an assembly only, because it is a non-disassembly part.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Clean the transmission exterior.
- Remove the drain plug to drain CVTF.
- Use a new gasket to install the drain plug.
Tightening torque:
39.2 N.m (4.0 kgf-m, 28.9 ft-lb)
- Remove the bolts which hold the oil pan.
- Insert an oil pan seal cutter into the gap between oil pan and transmission case, and remove the oil pan.CAUTION:
- Do not use the tools other than the oil pan seal cutter, in order to prevent damaging the oil pan and the transmission case.
- Do not twist with excessive force. The oil pan may be deformed.
- Do not place the oil pan with its inner side facing up until it is installed, to prevent intrusion of foreign matter into the control valve body.
- Remove the liquid gasket from the oil pan and the transmission case.
- Remove the magnet.
- Disconnect the transmission harness connector.
- Remove the oil strainer.
- Remove the control valve body.CAUTION: Be careful not to let the manual valve drop off.
- Remove the pressure pipe No. 1, pressure pipe No. 2 and pressure pipe No. 3.NOTE: It may be located in transmission case side.
- Remove the O-ring from oil strainer.
- Remove the O-rings from the pressure pipe No. 1, pressure pipe No. 2 and pressure pipe No. 3.
