Inhibitor Switch: Installation

Temporarily install the inhibitor switch.

Connect the inhibitor harness connector to the inhibitor switch.
Install the shifter arm and fix with a new spring pin.

Shift the shifter arm to "N" range.
Install the ST vertically in the cutout of shifter arm and the hole of switch body.
Preparation tool:

ST: STOPPER PIN (499267300)

Tighten the two bolts holding the inhibitor switch.
Tightening torque:

5 N.m (0.5 kgf-m, 3.7 ft-lb)
Connect the select cable, and install the washer and snap pin.
CAUTION: Do not apply excessive load while holding the part (a).

Connect the battery ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
After installation of inhibitor switch, check the following points.

The select indicator matches the select lever position when the select lever is changed from "P" range to "D" range.
The select lever position and the position mark match each other.
Operating force to move the select lever from "P" to "D" range
