Engine Control Module (ECM): Installation

CAUTION:

When the ECM of model with immobilizer has been replaced, be sure to perform the registration of immobilizer system.
- Model without keyless access with push button start
  For models without immobilizer CM, refer to "Type B" described in "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".
  
  For models with immobilizer CM, refer to "Type E" described in "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".
- Model with keyless access with push button start
  Refer to "Type E" described in "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".
When the ECM has been replaced, be sure to perform the registration on VIN. Ref. to WORK SUPPORT .

NOTE: When replacing the ECM, be careful not to use the ECM of wrong specification to avoid any damage on the fuel injection system.

Install the ECM bracket.
Tightening torque:

7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)
Temporarily install the ECM to the vehicle, tighten the fasteners in numerical order as shown in the figure.
Tightening torque:

7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

Connect the connector in numerical order as shown in the figure.

Connect the battery ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
