Transmission Control Module (TCM): Removal
CAUTION:
- When replacing the TCM, be sure to perform [Start count reading ECU to SSM] before operation and perform [Start count writing SSM to ECU] after operation. Refer to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT>NOTE .
- When [Start count reading ECU to SSM] cannot be performed due to TCM malfunction, be sure to replace the starter and fuel pump relay at the same time. Refer to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DO)>STARTER . Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL PUMP RELAY .
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Remove the clip from the air intake boot, and loosen the clamp.
- Remove the air intake boot, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.CAUTION: Be careful not to pull out the PCV hose.
- Disconnect the ground cord.
- Remove the pitching stopper. Refer to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>TRANSMISSION MOUNTING SYSTEM>REMOVAL>PITCHING STOPPER .
- Remove the transmission case cover (front).
- Move the lock lever in the arrow direction while pressing the lock button (A), and disconnect the connector.
- Remove the TCM.
