Fuel Sub Level Sensor: Removal
WARNING:
Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.
CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill fuel.
- If the fuel gauge indicates that two thirds or more of the fuel is remaining, be sure to drain fuel before starting work to avoid the fuel to spill.
- Release the fuel pressure.
Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL>PROCEDURE>RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .
- Drain fuel.
Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL>PROCEDURE>DRAINING FUEL (WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR) .
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor.
Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Remove the rear seat cushion.
Refer to SEATS>REAR SEAT>REMOVAL .
- Remove the service hole cover of fuel sub level sensor.
- Disconnect the connector from the fuel sub level sensor.
- Remove the ring nut using the ST.
Preparation tool:
ST: ST FUEL PUMP (42099FL000)
- Take out the fuel sub level sensor from the fuel tank, and remove the fuel sub delivery tube from the fuel sub level sensor.CAUTION: Be careful not to let the arm and float of the fuel sub level sensor contact the fuel tank during the removal.
