Auto Start Stop Indicator Does Not ILLUIMINATE Or Remains On
Detecting condition:
- Defective combination meter
- CAN communication is abnormal between TCM and the combination meter.
- Defective cockpit control module
- CHECK Auto Start Stop WARNING LIGHT (YELLOW)
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Check that the Auto Start Stop warning light (yellow) illuminates when the ignition switch is turned to ON. Refer to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>Auto Start Stop Indicator>CONDITION CHECK .
Does the Auto Start Stop warning light (yellow) illuminate?
Yes : Go to 2.
No : Check the combination meter. Refer to ACTIVE TESTRefer to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>Active Test .
- CHECK Auto Start Stop WARNING LIGHT (YELLOW)
.
- Start the engine.
- Check that the Auto Start Stop warning light (yellow) goes off. Refer to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>Auto Start Stop Indicator>CONDITION CHECK .
Does the Auto Start Stop warning light (yellow) go off?
Yes : Go to 4.
No : Go to 3.
- CHECK DTC
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Start the engine.
- Read the DTC of [Auto Start Stop] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .
Is DTC displayed?
Yes : Perform the diagnosis according to the DTC. Refer to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>LIST .
No : Check the combination meter. Refer to ACTIVE TESTRefer to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>Active Test .
- CHECK Auto Start Stop OFF INDICATOR
.
- Operate the Auto Start Stop cancel switch (center information display) to ON/OFF with engine idling.
- Check that the Auto Start Stop OFF indicator illuminates and goes off in turn every time the Auto Start Stop cancel switch (center information display) is turned to ON/OFF.
Does the Auto Start Stop OFF indicator illuminate and go off?
Yes : Go to 5.
No : Go to 6.
- CHECK Auto Start Stop INDICATOR (GREEN)
.
- Turn off the Auto Start Stop OFF indicator by operating the Auto Start Stop cancel switch (center information display).
- Start the engine.
- Perform the active test using Subaru Select Monitor to activate the Auto Start Stop. Refer to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>Active Test .
Is the Auto Start Stop indicator (green) lit?
Yes : The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.
NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.No : Check the combination meter. Refer to ACTIVE TESTRefer to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>Active Test .
- CHECK Auto Start Stop DEACTIVATION INDICATOR

- Turn off the Auto Start Stop OFF indicator by operating the Auto Start Stop cancel switch (center information display).
- Start the engine.
Is the Auto Start Stop deactivation indicator lit?
Yes : Go to 7.
No : Check the combination meter. Refer to ACTIVE TESTRefer to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>Active Test .
- CHECK Auto Start Stop DEACTIVATION INDICATOR
.
Start to move the vehicle.
Does the Auto Start Stop deactivation indicator go off?
Yes : Go to 8.
No : Check the combination meter. Refer to ACTIVE TESTRefer to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>Active Test .
- CHECK Auto Start Stop CANCEL SWITCH (CENTER INFORMATION DISPLAY)
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Start the engine.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read the data of [Auto Start Stop OFF Switch] when the Auto Start Stop cancel switch (center information display) is operated to ON/OFF. Refer to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>Data Monitor .
Does the display of [Auto Start Stop OFF Switch] change?
Yes : Go to 10.
No : Go to 9.
- CHECK Auto Start Stop CANCEL SWITCH (CENTER INFORMATION DISPLAY)
.
Check the Auto Start Stop cancel switch (center information display). Refer to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 10.
No : Replace the cockpit control module. Refer to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY .
- CHECK COMBINATION METER
.
Check the combination meter. Refer to BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURERefer to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>Basic Diagnostic Procedure .
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 11.
No : Replace the combination meter. Refer to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>COMBINATION METER .
- CHECK DTC
.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read all DTCs. Refer to COMMON (DIAG)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is U-code displayed?
Yes : Perform the diagnosis according to the DTC. Refer to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>LIST .
No : Replace the combination meter. Refer to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>COMBINATION METER .
