Gateway Control Module: Removal

CAUTION: Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>General Description>CAUTION .
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the cover LWR driver. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>Instrument Panel Lower Cover>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the visor assembly. Refer to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>Combination Meter>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the cover center UPR or the driver monitoring unit assembly. Refer to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>Driver Monitoring Unit>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the grip and boot. Refer to CONTROL SYSTEMS>Select Lever>REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the cover assembly front. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>Console Box>REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the ornament panel mid passenger and the center information display assembly. Refer to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>Cockpit Display>REMOVAL .
  8. Remove the speaker assembly center. Refer to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>Front Speaker>REMOVAL .
  9. Remove the central gateway Control Module.
    CAUTION: Be careful to keep water and other foreign materials away from the central gateway Control Module terminals.
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Remove the screws and remove the central gateway Control Module.
