Power Rear Gate Control Module: Removal

CAUTION: Side impact sensor (under the rear center seat) for the airbag system is located under the front center of the rear seat cushion. Be careful not to apply strong impact to the sensor when working with the rear seat cushion removed.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly. Refer to SEATS>Rear Seat>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the trim panel assembly apron LH and the trim panel assembly D pillar LH. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>Rear Quarter Trim>REMOVAL
  4. Remove the bolts, and then remove the bracket remote lever LH.

  5. Remove the power rear gate Control Module.
    1. Disconnect the connectors in (a) - (c) order as shown in the figure.
      NOTE: When the connectors are not disconnected in the sequence, a diagnosis code (DTC) may be detected.
    2. Release the lock and hook, and remove the power rear gate Control Module.
