Steering Angle Sensor: Installation

CAUTION:

When removing, installing or replacing the VDC CM&H/U, VDC CM&H/U bracket, steering wheel or steering angle sensor (steering roll connector), perform "VSC(VDC) Centering Mode" of the VDC. Refer to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM&H/U)>ADJUSTMENT>VDC SENSOR MIDPOINT SETTING MODE .
Before handling the airbag system components, always refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>General Description>CAUTION .

Install the sensor assembly VDC steering.

Apply grease to the protrusion (a) of the new sensor assembly VDC steering.

CAUTION: Do not rotate the steering angle sensor protrusion.

Align the center of steering roll connector. Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>Roll Connector>INSTALLATION .
Align the position of the protrusion and install the sensor assembly VDC steering to the steering roll connector.

Install the column cover assembly. Refer to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>Steering Column>INSTALLATION .
Install the steering wheel. Refer to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>Steering Wheel>INSTALLATION .
Install the driver's airbag module. Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>Driver's Airbag Module>INSTALLATION .
Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
Perform the neutral position setting of the sensor assembly VDC steering. Refer to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (VDCCM&H/U)>ADJUSTMENT>VDC SENSOR MIDPOINT SETTING MODE .
