Engine Control Module (ECM): Installation

CAUTION: When the ECM of model with immobilizer has been replaced, be sure to perform the registration of immobilizer system.

For model without keyless access with push button start (for United States), refer to the Type G in appropriate service information.
For model without keyless access with push button start (for Canada), refer to the Type I in appropriate service information.
For model with keyless access with push button start, refer to the Type H in appropriate service information.

NOTE: When replacing the ECM, be careful not to use the ECM of wrong specification to avoid any damage on the fuel injection system.

Install the ECM bracket.
Tightening torque:

7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)
Temporarily install the ECM to the vehicle, tighten the fasteners in numerical order as shown in the figure.
Tightening torque:

7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

Connect the connector in numerical order as shown in the figure.

Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
