AVH On Indicator Light Come On
Detecting condition:
- Defective combination meter
- Defective CAN communication
- Defective AVH switch
Trouble symptom:
When the ignition switch is turned to ON, the AVH ON indicator light illuminates with the AVH switch not operated.
Wiring diagram:
Parking brake/brake fluid level warning light system Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM>PARKING BRAKE/BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WARNING LIGHT SYSTEM .
- READ DTC
.
Read the DTC using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .
Is DTC displayed?
Yes: Perform the diagnosis according to DTC. Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>LIST .
No: Go to 2.
- CHECK LAN SYSTEM
.
Check the LAN system. Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
Is the check result OK?
Yes: Go to 3.
No: Perform the diagnosis for LAN system.
- CHECK POWER SUPPLY OF AVH SWITCH
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the connector from the AVH switch.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage between the AVH switch connector and chassis ground.
Connector and terminal
(i334) No. 1 (+) - Chassis ground (-):
Is the voltage 10 - 15 V?
Yes: Go to 4.
No: Repair the power supply circuit of AVH switch.
- CHECK HARNESS (CHECK FOR OPEN CIRCUIT)

- Turn the ignition switch to OFF .
- Disconnect the connector from the VDCCM&H/U .
- Measure the resistance between VDCCM&H/U and AVH switch connector
.
Connector and terminal
(i334) No. 4 - (B310) No. 33:
Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?
Yes: Go to 5.
No: Repair harness and connector between VDCCM&H/U and AVH switch connector.
- CHECK HARNESS (CHECK FOR GROUND SHORT CIRCUIT)
.
Measure the resistance between AVH switch connector and chassis ground.
Connector and terminal
(i334) No. 4 - Chassis ground:
Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?
Yes: Go to 6.
No: Repair ground short of harness between VDCCM&H/U and AVH switch connector.
- CHECK HARNESS (CHECK FOR SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY)

- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage between the AVH switch connector and chassis ground.
Connector and terminal
(i334) No. 4 (+) - Chassis ground (-):
Is the voltage less than 1 V?
Yes: Go to 7.
No: Repair short to power supply of harness between VDCCM&H/U and AVH switch connector.
- CHECK AVH SWITCH
.
Check the AVH switch. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>Auto Vehicle Hold Switch>INSPECTION .
Is the check result OK?
Yes: Go to 8.
No: Replace the AVH switch. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>AUTO VEHICLE HOLD SWITCH .
- CHECK COMBINATION METER
.
Check the combination meter. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>Combination Meter System>OPERATION>SELF-DIAGNOSIS DISPLAY MODE .
Is the check result OK?
Yes: Replace the VDCCM&H/U. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM&H/U) .
No: Replace the combination meter. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>COMBINATION METER .
