Transfer Clutch: Installation

  1. Using a new seal ring, attach it to the seal ring groove of transfer clutch.
    CAUTION:
    • Before installing seal rings, apply sufficient amount of CVTF to avoid damage and deformation.
    • Use SUBARU genuine CVTF.
    • Be careful not to incorrectly install or fail to install seal rings and other such parts.
    • When installing the seal rings, do not expand the seal rings too much.
  2. Install the transfer clutch.
  3. Select the thrust bearing. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>Rear Drive Shaft>ADJUSTMENT .
  4. Install the selected thrust bearing and needle bearing to transfer clutch.
    NOTE: Install the thrust bearing in the correct direction.

  5. Install the rear drive shaft. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>Rear Drive Shaft>INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the extension case. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>Extension Case>INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the transmission body. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>Transmission Assembly>INSTALLATION .
