Engine Control Module (ECM): Installation

CAUTION:

When replacing the ECM, be sure to perform [Entry VIN] after the service. Ref. to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (H4DOTC)>WORK SUPPORT .
When the ECM of model with immobilizer has been replaced, be sure to perform the registration of immobilizer system.
- Model without keyless access with push button start
  For models without immobilizer control module, refer to "Type B" described in "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".
  
  For models with immobilizer control module, refer to "Type E" described in "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".
- Model with keyless access with push button start
  Refer to "Type D" described in "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".

NOTE: When replacing the ECM, be careful not to use the ECM of wrong specification to avoid any damage on the fuel injection system.

Install the ECM bracket.
Tightening torque:

7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)
Temporarily install the ECM to the vehicle, tighten the fasteners in numerical order as shown in the figure.
Tightening torque:

7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

Connect the connector in numerical order as shown in the figure.

Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
