Select Lever: Removal
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY
.NOTE: For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.
- Release the shift lock using a screwdriver, etc. and shift the select lever to the "N" range.
- Lower the boot assembly vertically toward the lever. (Model with boot shifter)
- Lower the cover grip AT vertically toward the lever. (Model with gate shifter)
- Remove the clamp grip pin.

- Remove the grip assembly.
- Model with boot shifter

- Remove the console box assembly. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>CONSOLE BOX>REMOVAL .
- Remove the panel center LWR LH and RH. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>CENTER CONSOLE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the harness clip from the select lever assembly.
- Separate the floor carpet to three layers, and cut them while staggering their cut position as shown in the figure.
- Disconnect the harness connector.
- Remove four bolts.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the center exhaust cover.

- Remove the inhibitor cover. (Crosstrek hybrid model)
- Disconnect the select cable from the transmission main body.CAUTION: Do not apply excessive load while holding the part (a).

- Crosstrek hybrid model
- Lower the vehicle, and remove the select lever assembly from the room side.
NOTE:
Pass the select cable from the underside of the vehicle to the room side.
