Driver's Side Power Window Does Not Work

Trouble causes: 

Wiring diagram: 

Power window system Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM>POWER WINDOW SYSTEM>WIRING DIAGRAM .

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION .
  1. CHECK BATTERY  .

    Check the battery. Ref. to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DO)>BATTERY>INSPECTION .

    Is the battery OK?

    Yes:  Go to  2 .

    No:  Charge or replace the battery.

  2. CHECK DTC  .

    Read the DTC of [Power Window (Driver)] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

    Are any DTCs displayed? (Current malfunction)

    Yes:  Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>LIST .

    No:  Go to  3 .

  3. CHECK [Power Supply Voltage] (DATA MONITOR)  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data monitor] of [Power Window (Driver)]. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
      • Power Supply Voltage

    Is the displayed voltage approximately 10.0 V or more?

    Yes:  Go to  4 .

    No:  Replace the front regulator and motor assembly (driver's side). Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>FRONT REGULATOR AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY .

  4. CHECK [Operation Enable Signal] (DATA MONITOR)  .

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data monitor] of [Power Window (Driver)]. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .

    • Operation Enable Signal

    Is [ON] displayed?

    Yes:  Go to  5 .

    No:  Inspect the body integrated unit. Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .

    If no fault is found in the body integrated unit, replace the front regulator and motor assembly (driver's side). Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>FRONT REGULATOR AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY .

  5. CHECK POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH  .

    Perform unit inspection of power window main switch. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH .

    Is the power window main switch OK?

    Yes:  Go to  6 .

    No:  Replace the power window main switch. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH .

  6. CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the power window main switch connector.
    3. Disconnect the front regulator and motor assembly connector (driver's side).
    4. Using a tester, measure the resistance between power window main switch and front regulator and motor assembly (driver's side) connectors.

      Connector and terminal 

      With off-delay function for driver's seat only 

      (D7) No. 14 - (D3) No. 8:

      (D7) No. 15 - (D3) No. 6:

      Other than with off-delay function for driver's seat only 

      (D7) No. 12 - (D3) No. 8:

      (D7) No. 11 - (D3) No. 6:

    Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

    Yes:  Replace the front regulator and motor assembly (driver's side). Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>FRONT REGULATOR AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY .

    No:  Repair the open circuit of the harness between power window main switch and front regulator and motor assembly (driver's side) connectors.
