Engine Starting System & Charging System: Starter: Removal
CAUTION:
- When replacing the starter, be sure to perform [Start count clearing] after the service. Ref. to Start Count Clearing .
- When replacing the starter, be sure to replace the fuel pump relay at the same time. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL PUMP RELAY .
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to GROUND TERMINAL REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION .
- Remove the collector cover. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>COLLECTOR COVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the clip from the air intake boot, and loosen the clamp.
- Remove the air intake boot, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.CAUTION: Be careful not to pull out the PCV hose.
- Remove the front wheel LH. Ref. to WHEEL AND TIRE SYSTEM>TIRE AND WHEEL>REMOVAL
.NOTE: If the front exhaust pipe is removed, the work can be performed without removing the front wheel LH.
- Disconnect the connector, terminal B and ground terminal.CAUTION: In order to prevent damaging the ground terminal, fix the ground terminal when loosing the bolt, and avoid the part from rotating together while loosening the bolt.
- Remove the cable stay (A) and starter (B).NOTE: Remove from the upper side of the vehicle.
