Electric Fluid Pump: Inspection

  1. Check for oil leaks.
  2. Check that there is no deformation, cracks or other damages.
  3. Perform the road test (Auto Start Stop) and check that no shift shock occurs immediately after engine starting. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>Road Test>INSPECTION>AUTO START STOP .
  4. Perform the following oil pressure test for the electric oil pump, and check [secondary pressure sensor voltage.].
    1. Connect the Subaru Select Monitor.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON. (Engine OFF)
    3. Display [ATF Temp.] and [secondary pressure sensor voltage.].
    4. Start the engine and raise [ATF Temp.] to 60 - 80 °C (140 - 176 °F).
    5. Stop the engine and leave it for three minutes or more.
    6. Turn the ignition switch to ON. (Engine OFF)
    7. Record [secondary pressure sensor voltage.]. This voltage is "E1".
    8. Start the engine.
    9. Turn off all systems causing an electrical load, such as headlights, A/C, seat heater and rear defogger.
    10. Shift the select lever to "D range" and set the vehicle to the Auto Start Stop status.
      NOTE: Listen to the operating sound to check that the electric oil pump is operating.
    11. Leave it for five seconds or more with the vehicle set to the Auto Start Stop status, and record [secondary pressure sensor voltage.] during the Auto Start Stop.

      This voltage is "E2".

    12. Calculate the difference between the recorded voltage "E1" and "E2".
