Electric Fluid Pump: Inspection
- Check for oil leaks.
- Check that there is no deformation, cracks or other damages.
- Perform the road test (Auto Start Stop) and check that no shift shock occurs immediately after engine starting. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>Road Test>INSPECTION>AUTO START STOP .
- Perform the following oil pressure test for the electric oil pump, and check [secondary pressure sensor voltage.].
- Connect the Subaru Select Monitor.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON. (Engine OFF)
- Display [ATF Temp.] and [secondary pressure sensor voltage.].
- Start the engine and raise [ATF Temp.] to 60 - 80 °C (140 - 176 °F).
- Stop the engine and leave it for three minutes or more.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON. (Engine OFF)
- Record [secondary pressure sensor voltage.]. This voltage is "E1".
- Start the engine.
- Turn off all systems causing an electrical load, such as headlights, A/C, seat heater and rear defogger.
- Shift the select lever to "D range" and set the vehicle to the Auto Start Stop status.NOTE: Listen to the operating sound to check that the electric oil pump is operating.
- Leave it for five seconds or more with the vehicle set to the Auto Start Stop status, and record [secondary pressure sensor voltage.] during the Auto Start Stop.
This voltage is "E2".
- Calculate the difference between the recorded voltage "E1" and "E2".
