Power Rear Gate Drive Unit: Installation

CAUTION:

Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
Side impact sensor (under the rear center seat) for the airbag system is located under the front center of the rear seat cushion. Be careful not to apply strong impact to the sensor when working with the rear seat cushion removed.

NOTE: The power rear gate stay is installed on the RH side. For operation procedures, refer to the procedures for power rear gate drive unit LH .

Connect the power rear gate drive unit connector. (When the power rear gate drive unit is replaced with a new part)

Install the power rear gate drive unit.

Tighten the mounting bolts (b) in the panel COMPL rear gate side.
Tightening torque:

16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)

Tighten the mounting bolts (a) on the body side.

Tightening torque:

16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)

Align the arrow on the harness grommet with the alignment mark on the body side, and install the harness grommet.

Install the trim panel assembly D pillar LH and the trim panel assembly apron LH. (When the power rear gate drive unit LH is removed) Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>REAR QUARTER TRIM>INSTALLATION .
Install the rear seat cushion assembly. Ref. to SEATS>REAR SEAT>INSTALLATION .
Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
