Power Rear Gate Touch Sensor: Removal

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the trim panel assembly rear gate LWR. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>REAR GATE TRIM>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the power rear gate touch sensor.
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Release the clips, and then remove the power rear gate touch sensor.
    CAUTION:
    • Applying excessive force to the harness may damage the water shield. Always disconnect the connector first.
    • If the water shield has been broken, replace it together with the power rear gate touch sensor to avoid water leak.
