Bluetooth DOES NOT OPERATE

Probable cause: 

Bluetooth device malfunction, influence by external devices, unit body malfunction

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION .
  1. CHECK DTC  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Cockpit Control]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>CLEAR MEMORY .
    3. Turn the ignition switch OFF → ON.
    4. Read the DTC of [Cockpit Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to Cockpit Control (Diagnostics)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .

    Is DTC B2249 displayed? (Current malfunction)

    Yes:  Perform the diagnosis of DTC B2249. Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>DTC B2249: BLUETOOTH MODULE .

    No:  Go to  2 .

  2. CHECK Bluetooth DEVICE  .

    Restart the Bluetooth device, and connect again.

    Does it start properly?

    Yes:  Currently no failure is found.

    No:  Go to  3 .

  3. CHECK Bluetooth DEVICE  .

    Re-register the Bluetooth device, and connect again.

    Is connection established?

    Yes:  Currently no failure is found.

    No:  Go to  4 .

  4. CHECK Bluetooth DEVICE  .

    Connect other Bluetooth device.

    NOTE: Supported Bluetooth standards: Ver. 4.2 compatible
    • Bluetooth Phone Profile
      • HFP: Ver. 1.7
      • PBAP: Ver. 1.2
      • MAP: Ver. 1.3
      • SPP: Ver. 1.2
    • Bluetooth Audio Device Profile
      • A2DP: Ver. 1.3
      • AVRCP: Ver. 1.6

    Is connection established?

    Yes:  Bluetooth device which cannot be connected might be faulty.

    No:  Go to  5 .

  5. CHECK ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION  .

    Check if any external devices which emit strong electromagnetic waves and noises, such as a radio antenna, is installed inside the vehicle.

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes:  Go to  6 .

    No:  Remove the external device and perform the inspection from step 1 again.

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR  .

    Visually check the BT antenna cable between the cockpit control module and the center information display, and the connectors on the cockpit control module and center information display side.

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes:  Go to  7 .

    No:  Reconnect the connector.

    NOTE: Replace the cable if the cable or connector is faulty.
  7. CHECK CENTER INFORMATION DISPLAY  .

    Replace the center information display with a new or properly functioning part. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY .

    Is connection established?

    Yes:  Center information display had a failure.

    No:  Return the center information display to its original position, and replace the cockpit control module. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY .
