Check Horn Switch
CAUTION:
Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION

- CHECK HORN SWITCH TERMINAL
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Remove the driver's airbag module. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE>REMOVAL .
- Check that the connection of the horn switch harness connector is correct.
- Measure the resistance between connectors.
Terminal No. Standard Horn switch terminal - ground terminal Less than 1 Ω Is the measured value within the standard value?
Yes: Go to 2 .
No: It is possible that there is an open circuit between horn switch terminal and ground terminal. Replace the satellite switch assembly.
- CHECK DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE
.
Measure the resistance between horn plate and snap pin hook.
Terminal No. Standard Horn plate - Snap pin hook 1 MΩ or more Is the measured value within the standard value?
Yes: Go to 3 .
No: Replace the driver's airbag module.
- CHECK DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE
.
Measure the resistance between horn plate and snap pin hook with the snap pin hook pressed-in firmly.
Terminal No. Standard Horn plate - Snap pin hook Less than 1 Ω Is the measured value within the standard value?
Yes: Driver's airbag module is normal.
No: Replace the driver's airbag module.
