Symptom 1: Engine Does Not Stop
Probable defective cause:
- Judged the vehicle status as "Auto Start Stop conditions are not met".
- One of Auto Start Stop conditions is not established.
- CHECK Auto Start Stop INDICATOR

Check the illumination status of Auto Start Stop indicator. Ref. to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>AUTO START STOP INDICATOR>CONDITION CHECK .
Is the illumination status of Auto Start Stop indicator OK?
Yes: Go to 2 .
No: Check the Auto Start Stop indicator. Ref. to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>AUTO START STOP INDICATOR>AUTO START STOP INDICATOR DOES NOT ILLUMINATE OR REMAINS ON .
- CHECK DTC

- Start the engine.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read all DTCs. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes: Perform the diagnosis according to the DTC.
No: Go to 3 .
- CHECK Auto Start Stop

- Start the engine.
- Warm up the engine until engine coolant temperature is higher than 75°C (167°F) and ATF temperature higher than 50°C (122°F).
- Turn off all the electric load.
- Check that the hood is closed.
- Drive the vehicle at 40 km/h (24.9 MPH) or more, and then stop the vehicle at a level and safe place with the steering wheel in straight direction.
- Depress the brake pedal firmly.
Does Auto Start Stop operate?
Yes: The vehicle has returned to a normal condition at this time.
