Diagnostic Procedure

WARNING: When performing inspection mode on a public road, pay sufficient attention to the traffic condition and give the highest priority to safe driving.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for at least 10 seconds without starting the engine.
  2. Start the engine, and run the engine at idle for 60 seconds or more while the vehicle is at a standstill.
  3. Accelerate to 40 km/h (24.9 MPH) or more, and depress the brake pedal to stop the vehicle with the gear kept in D range.
  4. Check that the Auto Start Stop functions for at least 10 seconds.
  5. Release the brake pedal to restart.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to OFF, and wait for 10 seconds or more.
  7. If the Auto Start Stop does not function for 10 seconds or more in step 4), repeat steps  1 ) to 5) with the number of driving cycles described in the detection condition for each DTC. Ref. to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>INSPECTION MODE .
  8. Read the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) and check the DTC. Ref. to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
NOTE:
  • If the DTC is displayed on the screen, the trouble is still present. Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. After solving the DTC, repeat from step 1).
  • When the Auto Start Stop functions for at least 10 seconds, the function recovers properly.
