Fuel Filler Pipe: Removal
WARNING:
Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to spill fuel.
NOTE:
For the removal procedure of fuel filler lid, refer to "Fuel filler lid". Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>REMOTE OPENERS>REMOVAL>FUEL LID
.
- Release the fuel pressure. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL>PROCEDURE>RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .
- Drain fuel. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL>PROCEDURE>DRAINING FUEL (WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR) .
- Open the fuel filler lid and remove the fuel filler cap.
- Release the lock (A), and turn the fuel filler pipe protector in the direction of the arrow to remove it.
- Disconnect the fuel filler pipe (A) from the fuel tank. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE I) .
- Disconnect the drain tube (B) from the canister. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE G) .
- Disconnect the circulate tube (C) from the fuel tank. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE F) .
- Remove the circulate tube (C) from the clip (D).
- Remove the mud guard rear RH. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>MUD GUARD>REMOVAL .
- Remove the bolts and nuts which secure the fuel filler pipe assembly, and remove the fuel filler pipe assembly.
