Draining Fuel (With SUBARU Select Monitor)
WARNING:
Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to spill fuel.
NOTE:
- If the fuel pump cannot be driven, refer to the procedures for draining from the fuel filler hose. Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (W/O STI)>FUEL>PROCEDURE>DRAINING FUEL (THROUGH THE FUEL FILLER HOSE) .
- Be careful not to let the battery run-out.
- Be aware that the fuel may remain in the fuel tank after draining the fuel.
- Release the fuel pressure. Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (W/O STI)>FUEL>PROCEDURE>RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .
- Disconnect the fuel delivery tube from the fuel pipe assembly, and remove the clip (A) securing the fuel delivery tube.CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Catch the fuel from the tubes using a container or cloth.
NOTE: Disconnect the quick connector as shown in the figure. - Connect ST to the fuel delivery tube.
ST 18471AA000 FUEL PIPE ADAPTER - Connect the gasoline proof hose to ST and put the end of the hose in the container.
- Drive the fuel pump and drain the fuel using Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (W/O STI)>ACTIVE TEST

- Install the related parts in the reverse order after draining the fuel.CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Catch the fuel from the tubes using a container or cloth.
- Check that there is no damage or dust on the quick connector. If necessary, clean the seal surface of the pipe.
- When connecting the quick connector, make sure to insert it all the way in before locking the slider.
- When it is difficult to lock the slider, check that the connector is fully inserted.
- After locking the slider, pull the quick connector itself to the disconnecting direction, and then push to the connecting direction in order to confirm secure connection. Make sure to end this check with a pushing step.
NOTE:
