MT Gear Shift Cable: Removal
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery. Refer to NOTE>NOTE>BATTERY
.NOTE: For model with battery sensor, disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the center exhaust pipe (rear). Refer to EXHAUST(W/O STI)>CENTER EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the center exhaust cover.
- Remove the cable clamp.
- Remove the dust cover.
- Remove the snap pin and washer.
- Remove the bolts holding the shift bracket.
- Remove the shift bracket together with the MT gear shift cable.CAUTION: Do not apply extra overload while holding the part (a).
- Remove the cable cover plate.
- Disconnect the MT gear shift cable.CAUTION:
- Be careful not to deform the cable inner.
- Do not apply extra overload while holding the part (a).
NOTE: Pull out down the MT gear shift cable to spread the spring. - Remove the clamp.
- Pull out the MT gear shift cable.CAUTION:
- Do not bend MT gear shift cable at a sharp angle.
- Do not twist the cable inner excessively.
