Operating Cylinder: Removal

CAUTION: Brake fluid spilled on the vehicle body will harm the paint surface; therefore, wash it off with water and wipe clean quickly if spilled.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Refer to NOTE>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE: For models other than STI model, disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor.
  2. Remove the collector cover. (Except for STI model) Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (W/O STI)>COLLECTOR COVER>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the intercooler.

    STI model: 

    Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (STI)>INTERCOOLER>REMOVAL .

    Except for STI model: 

    Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (W/O STI)>INTERCOOLER>REMOVAL .

  4. Remove the starter. (STI model) Refer to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS(STI)>STARTER>REMOVAL .
  5. Disconnect the clutch hose.
    CAUTION:
    • Cover the hose joint to prevent the brake fluid from flowing out.
    • Do not loosen or remove the cap bolts.
    • STI model

  6. Remove the operating cylinder.
    • STI model
