Fuel Insulator: Removal
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY
- Remove the intake manifold assembly. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DOTC)>INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL
- Move the A/C compressor aside so that it does not interfere with the work.NOTE:
This procedure is required to remove the fuel pump insulator.
- Remove the V-belts. Ref. to MECHANICAL (H4DOTC)>V-BELT>REMOVAL>V-BELT
- Remove the fuel pipe protector No. 1.
- Remove the bolt securing the A/C compressor.
- Move the A/C compressor as shown in the figure.CAUTION:
- Do not bend the pipe portion of the hose pressure discharge and the hose pressure suction.
- Be careful not to drop the A/C compressor.
- Be careful not to damage the adjacent parts with the A/C compressor.
- Remove the fuel pump insulator (A) and fuel pipe insulator No. 3 (B).
- Remove the bolts securing the engine wiring harness.
- Remove the fuel pipe insulator No. 2 (A) and fuel pipe insulator No. 4 (B).
- Disconnect the connector (A) from fuel injector #3, and remove the fuel pipe insulator No. 1 (B).
- Disconnect the connector (C) from fuel injector #4, and remove the fuel pipe insulator No. 5 (D).
