Draining Fuel Partially

WARNING: Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.

CAUTION:

Be careful not to spill fuel.
Fuel may remain in the fuel filler pipe. Drain the fuel from the fuel filler pipe through the fill opening using the gasoline proof pump and the gasoline proof hose before the operation.

Lift up the vehicle.
Open the fuel filler lid and remove the fuel filler cap.
Drain the fuel from the fuel filler pipe using the gasoline proof pump and the gasoline proof hose.
CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Always collect fuel using a dedicated fuel container.
1. Mark the location of the specified value of the gasoline proof hose.
  Specified value (hose insertion length):
  
  1, 100 mm (43.31 in)
2. Insert the gasoline proof hose through the fill opening to the marked location.
  CAUTION: If the hose is inserted into the fuel tank, the check valve may be damaged when pulling out the hose due to getting the hose caught in the check valve. Thus, be careful not to insert the hose more than the specified value.
3. Drain the fuel from the fuel filler pipe using the gasoline proof pump.
Lift up the vehicle.
Remove the circulate tube from the clip.
Set a container under the vehicle, and disconnect the circulate tube from the fuel filler pipe assembly. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DOTC)>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE F) .
CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Catch the fuel from fuel filler pipe and circulate tube using a container or cloth.

Connect ST to the circulate tube. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DOTC)>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE F) .
Preparation tool:

ST: FUEL PIPE ADAPTER (18471AA000)

Connect the hose of gasoline proof pump to the ST and drain the fuel.
CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Always collect fuel using a dedicated fuel container.
Special tool:

FUEL PIPE ADAPTER (18471AA000)
Install the related parts in the reverse order after draining the fuel.
