Transfer Clutch: Inspection

Check that there is no deformation, cracks or other damages.
Check the bearing for smooth rotation.
Check the bearing for looseness.
Inspect the drive plate facing for excessive wear.
Check the driven plate for discoloration (seizure).
Check clearance between the snap ring and pressure plate (front side). Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>TRANSFER REDUCTION DRIVEN GEAR>ASSEMBLY .
Check that tight corner braking phenomenon does not occur when the vehicle starts moving with the steering wheel at the maximum steering angle.
If tight corner braking phenomenon occurs, perform the following procedures.
1. Turn the X mode to "OFF". (Model with X mode (1 mode))
2. Set the X mode to "NORMAL". (Model with X mode (2 modes))
3. With the steering wheel at the maximum steering angle, drive the vehicle in "D range" and with vehicle speed at approx. 5 km/h (3 MPH) in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions for approx. ten times each, while repeating acceleration and braking intermittently.
4. If the tight corner braking phenomenon still persists, drive the vehicle again in a circle for several laps.
