Intake Manifold Assembly: Installation

  1. Install the cylinder head plate to the cylinder head.

  2. Install the fuel pipe protector stay.

    Tightening torque: 

    19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

  3. Set a new gasket and install the intake manifold assembly.
    CAUTION:
    • Install the intake manifold assembly so that it is not damaged by adjacent parts.
    • Be careful not to let the engine wiring harness be caught by the parts.

    Tightening torque: 

    25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)

  4. Set a new gasket, and install the stud bolts using TORX® E5.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  5. Temporarily attach the EGR pipe No. 2 and tighten it in order of (1)→(2)→(3).

    Tightening torque: 

    9 N.m (0.9 kgf-m, 6.6 ft-lb)

  6. Install the PCV hose. Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DOTC)>PCV HOSE>INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the harness stay.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  8. Install the clip (A) and clip (B) to the harness stay.

  9. Connect the connector (A).
  10. Install the clip (B) and clip (C).

  11. Install the clip (D) and clip (C).
  12. Connect the fuel delivery pipe (B). Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DOTC)>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE B) .
  13. Connect the connector (A).

  14. Temporarily install the fuel pipe protector No. 2, and tighten the bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

  15. Temporarily attach the fuel pipe protector No. 1, and tighten the bolts securing the A/C compressor in numerical order as shown in figure.

    Tightening torque: 

    25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)

  16. Install the V-belts. Ref. to MECHANICAL (H4DOTC)>V-BELT>INSTALLATION>V-BELT .
  17. Set the engine wiring harness and secure the engine wiring harness to the bracket with the claw.

  18. Install the engine wiring harness to the clip (A), and connect the connector (B).
  19. Connect the connector (C) and connector (D) in numerical order shown in figure.

  20. Secure the battery cable assembly with the claw (B) and clip (A).

  21. Install the V-belt cover bracket and install the connector (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  22. Secure the battery cable assembly with the clip (A) and clip (B).
  23. Connect the connector (C), connector (D), connector (E), and the terminal (F).

    Tightening torque: 

    15.5 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.4 ft-lb)

  24. Install the V-belt cover.
    NOTE:
    • Check the grommet for peel-off or disengagement.
    • Be careful not to deform the bracket during installation.

    Tightening torque: 

    7 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.2 ft-lb)

  25. Connect the evaporation hose (E).
  26. Install the fuel delivery tube clamp (D).
  27. Connect the fuel delivery tube (C). Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DOTC)>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE A) .
  28. Connect the connector (A) and connector (B).

  29. Connect the PCV pipe assembly to the intake duct No. 1, and lock it.
    CAUTION:
    • Make sure there are no damage or dust on connections. If necessary, clean the seal surface of the pipe.
    • Confirm that the connections are secure.
    NOTE: It is possible to install with the spring locked.

  30. Connect the vacuum hose.

  31. Install the PCV pipe to the intake manifold assembly.
  32. Secure the clip (D), and connect the connector (C).
  33. Secure the clip (B), and connect the connector (A).

  34. Install the throttle body. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DOTC)>THROTTLE BODY>INSTALLATION .
  35. Install the intake duct No. 2. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>INTAKE DUCT>INSTALLATION>INTAKE DUCT NO. 2 .
  36. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  37. Install the fuel filler cap, and close the fuel filler lid.
