Select Cable: Adjustment

  1. Release the shift lock and shift the select lever to the "N range". Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER>REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the center exhaust cover. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO)>REAR EXHAUST PIPE .
    NOTE: Remove the center exhaust cover only.
  3. Loosen the adjusting nut (front) and adjusting nut (rear).

  4. Turn the adjusting nut (front) until it lightly touches the connector pin.

    (B) Downside
    (C) Select lever
    (D) Adjusting nut (rear)
    (E) Connector pin
    (F) Contact point
    (G) Adjusting nut (front)
  5. Tighten the adjusting nut (rear).
    1. Secure the adjusting nut (front).
    2. Tighten the adjusting nut (rear).

      Tightening torque: 

      7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

  6. Confirm that the select lever operates normally at all ranges.
  7. Install the center exhaust cover. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO)>REAR EXHAUST PIPE .
  8. Release the shift lock and shift the select lever to the "P range". Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER>INSTALLATION .
