High-Pressure Fuel Pump

  1. Install the high-pressure fuel pump.
    1. Install the fuel pump lifter.
      NOTE:
      • Apply engine oil to the side of the high-pressure fuel pump case and to the bottom surface of the fuel pump lifter.
      • After installing the fuel pump lifter, rotate the crankshaft in order to set the fuel pump lifter to the lowest position.

    2. Set new O-rings.
    3. Using TORX PLUS® 40IP, temporarily tighten the mounting bolts alternately to install the high-pressure fuel pump.
    4. Tighten the bolts which hold the high-pressure fuel pump.

      Tightening torque: 

      21 N.m (2.1 kgf-m, 15.5 ft-lb)

    5. Connect the connector.

  2. Install the high-pressure fuel delivery pipe. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>HIGH PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE>INSTALLATION>HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE .
  3. Install the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>AIR INTAKE BOOT>INSTALLATION .
  4. Install the collector cover. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>COLLECTOR COVER>INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
