CVTF Cooler (With Warmer Function): Installation

CAUTION: If the CVTF and engine coolant is spilt over the engine, exhaust pipe or the under cover, completely wipe it off to avoid emission of smoke or causing a fire.
NOTE: Check installation condition of hoses as a new CVTF cooler (with warmer function) does not have any mark.
  • Make sure the hoses do not interfere with each other or with other components.
  • Check each hose for bent, excess curve, and twisting conditions.
  1. Connect the water hose (outlet).
    NOTE:
    • Face the mark (a) of water hose (outlet) in the top direction.
    • Align the claw and the center of the claw of hose clamp (b) with the mark (a) of water hose (outlet).

  2. Install a new O-ring.

  3. Install the CVTF cooler (with warmer feature).
    CAUTION: Be careful not to allow any foreign materials to enter the CVTF cooler (with warmer feature) and the transmission body during installation.
    NOTE: Check the mark (a) of CVTF cooler (with warmer function).

    Tightening torque: 

    19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

  4. Connect the water hose. (Model without CVTF cooler (air cool))
    1. Connect the water hose (inlet).
      NOTE:
      • Align the mark (a) of CVTF cooler (with warmer feature) with the mark (b) of water hose (inlet).
      • Align the claw and the center of the claw of hose clamp (c) with the mark (b) of water hose (inlet).
      • Set the hose clamp (c) so that the both ends of the mark (b) of water hose (inlet) can be seen.

    2. Connect the water hose (outlet).
      NOTE:
      • Align the mark (a) of CVTF cooler (with warmer feature) with the mark (b) of water hose (outlet).
      • Align the claw and the center of the claw of hose clamp (c) with the mark (b) of water hose (outlet). Set the hose clamp (c) so that the both ends of the mark (b) of water hose (outlet) can be seen.
      • Set the hose clamp (c) so that the both ends of the mark (b) of water hose (outlet) can be seen.

  5. Connect the CVTF cooler hose and the water hose. (Model with CVTF cooler (air cool))
    1. Connect the water hose (inlet).
      • CVTF cooler pipe No. 1 side
        NOTE:
        • Face the mark (a) of CVTF cooler inlet hose in the top direction.
        • Align the claw and the center of the claw of hose clamp (b) with the mark (a) of CVTF cooler inlet hose.

      NOTE:
      • Align the mark (a) of CVTF cooler (with warmer feature) with the mark (b) of CVTF cooler inlet hose.
      • Align the claw and the center of the claw of hose clamp (c) with the mark (b) of CVTF cooler inlet hose.
      • Set the hose clamp (c) so that the both ends of the mark (b) of CVTF cooler inlet hose can be seen.

    2. Connect the water hose (inlet).
      NOTE:
      • Align the mark (a) of CVTF cooler (with warmer feature) with the mark (b) of water hose (inlet).
      • Align the claw and the center of the claw of hose clamp (c) with the mark (b) of water hose (inlet).
      • Set the hose clamp (c) so that the both ends of the mark (b) of water hose (inlet) can be seen.

    3. Connect the water hose (outlet).
      NOTE:
      • Align the mark (a) of CVTF cooler (with warmer feature) with the mark (b) of water hose (outlet).
      • Align the claw and the center of the claw of hose clamp (c) with the mark (b) of water hose (outlet).
      • Set the hose clamp (c) so that the both ends of the mark (b) of water hose (outlet) can be seen.

    4. Connect a new CVTF cooler outlet hose.
      • CVTF cooler (with warmer feature) side
        NOTE:
        • Align the mark (a) of CVTF cooler (with warmer feature) with the mark (b) of CVTF cooler outlet hose.
        • Align the claw and the center of the claw of hose clamp (c) with the mark (b) of CVTF cooler outlet hose.
        • Set the hose clamp (c) so that the both ends of the mark (b) of CVTF cooler outlet hose can be seen.

      • CVTF cooler pipe No. 1 side
      NOTE:
      • Face the mark (a) of CVTF cooler outlet hose in the top direction.
      • Align the claw and the center of the claw of hose clamp (b) with the mark (a) of CVTF cooler outlet hose.

  6. Install the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>AIR INTAKE BOOT>INSTALLATION .
  7. Fill engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
  8. Check the CVTF level. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>CVTF>INSPECTION .
