Control Valve Body: Removal
NOTE:
The control valve body is a non-disassembly part.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Remove the TCM. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM)>REMOVAL .
- Remove the pitching stopper bracket. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION(TR580)>TRANSMISSION MOUNTING SYSTEM>REMOVAL > PITCHING STOPPER
- Disconnect the transmission harness connector from the engine wiring harness.
- Remove the air breather hose stay.
- Remove the clips securing the transmission harness.
- Clean the valve cover vicinity.CAUTION: Make sure that foreign matter does not get into the throttle body and connector terminals.NOTE: This is necessary to prevent foreign matter from getting into the transmission.
- Attach the ST.NOTE: The ST is included in the control valve body for repairs.
Preparation tool:
ST: SHEET SPECIAL TOOL (18761AA010)
- Remove the bolt securing the transmission harness.
- Remove the valve cover.NOTE: Some scratches on the damping sheet (a) do not affect transmission performance, only if there is no damage on the valve cover.
- Remove the connector cover.
- Disconnect the connector from the control valve body, and remove the transmission harness from the valve cover.
- Remove the O-rings.
- Remove the gasket.
- Remove the control valve body.CAUTION: Do not remove any bolts other than specified in the figure.
- Remove the liquid gasket from the mating surface of valve cover and transmission body.
